Cosplay is a performance art that has taken the geek world by storm. From Comic Con to Anime Expo, cosplayers in dressed to the nines as their favorites characters fill convention halls and amaze us all. With it’s beginnings in 1990’s Japan, it has become a phenomenon at conventions all over and many cosplayers have raised to celebrity status in their communities. The art of cosplaying is so interesting, that it makes even the most newbie of geeks has a wishlist of characters they would want to cosplay, and here are mine.
Lara Croft: the first lady of gaming, but I would specifically go for the 2013 reboot of Lara when she is a teenager and her story begins. She looks more like a human in this version, and although she doesn’t have her duel pistols, she is still a badass.
Hermione Granger: the brightest witch of her age, I would want to do Prisoner of Azkaban Hermione because I’d get to wear my time turner necklace. Plus Hermione is seriously the best character in the entire series.
Kim Possible: the crime-fighting queen of Disney, Kim is the badass role model of my childhood, so I have deep respect for her as a character and possible cosplay.
Lemley: the cyborg warrior of Titansgrave, she rebuilt parts of her body after causing an explosion that killed her adoptive parents. Her cyber leg and arm give her strength, and her arm has a secret weapon by the name of Dr. Lobotomy. She looks awesome and has a fascinating character history.
After all the kick ass ladies above, we come to this.
John Bender: king slacker of The Breakfast Club. I mainly have this on here because it would be great to be a Gender Bender. Get it?
Bonuses: Evie Frye and Daria Morgendorffer.
Who would you cosplay as? Let me know in the comments!
YES I would love to be John Bender…and love your Futurama reference! I did an Everyday Cosplay of him on my blog! Daria and Jane are both perfect too! xx
Love Lara Croft – she’d be awesome to cosplay
I’d have to say either Lara Croft, Bloodrayne or Harley Quinn. But wow – I love your list!!! (My “Breakfast Club” go-to would have to be Allison Reynolds! 😉 Great article!
