I recently finished listening to the Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone audiobook and of course loved every nostalgic minute of it. Since it has been a very long time since I first read the books, going back was a whole new experience. And I wanted to share some of my favorite moments from going through this story a second time.
The trip to Diagon Alley with Hagrid
It’s probably one of the most magical parts of the series, traveling through the magical brick wall into the bustling Diagon Alley. Hearing about all of the magical shops, Gringotts, and meeting various characters is easily a favorite part of the series for everyone. Also, Hagrid is my not-so-secret favorite character, so when he is around I am happy.
Sorting Hat Ceremony
Unlike in the film, the book goes through many more students as we listen to them being sorted into their respective houses. We also listen to the Sorting Hat speak and explain the houses. It’s more of that background that I love in the early books in the series.
Hagrid all of the time. ALL OF IT.
Hagrid is my favorite character easily. Of course, I love Hermione and all of the great female characters, but Hagrid has a special place in my heart. So every second of Hagrid made me happy.
All of the Tasks
The tasks to get to the stone are one of the most interesting parts of the book, especially when you get all of them like the potions task. It also gets to show off Ron and Hermione’s skills more.
What are your favorite parts of the first book? Let me know in the comments.
I agree!! Hagrid is the best :3 :3 :3 I think I love all of it, if I think about it 😉
