I’ve been wanting to find some new games to try out, even though I have plenty of unplayed games in my Steam library already, and I came across this game Murderous Pursuits. Murderous Pursuits is a kill-or-be-killed Victorian stealth-em-up for 1-8 players in which you must hunt and kill your quarry before your hunters do the same to you, all while avoiding witnesses.
You are essentially playing a deadly game of cat and mouse in order to win the most favor of Mr. X. Mr. X will only take the most favored player with him on his time traveling journey to take over the world, while leaving the rest to die. So you want to be that topmost favored person.
You get favor by killing your quarry as quickly, unseen, and favored as possible. But you don’t know who your quarry exactly is. You have to wander around hunting for them, as a slider tells you when you are near your quarry. But you have to be careful, as you are being hunted too.
You can gain more favor a few different ways. Depending on your suspicion level, you get more or less favor. The less suspicious you are, the more favor you get when you kill your quarry. Different weapons are available to pick up that have varying amounts of favor you earn when you use them. And you can’t just run around and kill anyone, as you will lose favor for doing so.
If you ever played The Ship or the Wanted Multiplayer in Assassins Creed, then this game is very familiar to you. My opinion so far of the game is that is was quite fun although limited in what could be done this far. It would have been more fun with a full group of friends playing so we could interact and talk while playing. I did play the beta, not the full game, so there may be more to it now and changes made.
Have you found any interesting new games? Let me know in the comments what you have found!
Hmmm…this sounds interesting. So, are all the characters player controlled or are there NPCs too?
The artwok is cool! 🙂 🙂 You’ve tempted meeeeeee~~~~
I was invited to play the ship once, though never found the time. When I read your article it reminded me of what I knew of it. This sounds like a lot of fun. Perhaps something for the discord server?
