Video Game Wishlist: The Sequel

It’s been a year since I have shared a wishlist of video games. I came across last years post about it and decided to bring it back with some new games! Even though most of the games on the original list are still on the wishlist…

Frostpunk is a society survival game, where you are running the last city on Earth in a frozen wasteland. You’re not only working to build this new city but to keep it alive and thriving… or at least not falling. Frostpunk came from the same devs as This War of Mine, and the steampunk vibe and resource management strategy style has me interested.

Dead in Bermuda

Another resource and survival management game I have an eye on is Dead in Bermuda. In this game, you are survivors of a plane crash on a mysterious island. You assign them different tasks, like crafting needed items, scavenging the plane, or exploring the jungle. I first saw this game when Jesse Cox played it for his Fan Favorite series and have had it on my list for a while, and the devs released a new game Dead in Vinland this year too.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the third in the reboot installment and may not come out until September, but it’s already on the list. If you aren’t aware of how the reboot is structured, in the first game Lara is not the well-trained badass yet but an early-twentysomething archaeologist. Becuase of the trials and trauma she went through in the first game, the second game follows her mental struggles after the trauma as well as trying to defeat a new evil. In Shadow, we see Lara become the Tomb Raider we all know and love while navigating the sacrificial rituals of the Mayan culture and a supposed apocalypse. It looks amazing and I can’t wait!

I think the devs of SpyParty explained their game best.

SpyParty is a competitive espionage game about subtle human behavior. A Spy hides in plain sight at a fancy cocktail party, trying to accomplish missions while blending in with the other guests, while a Sniper with a single bullet looks inward, searching for the Spy.

I saw this game when it was in its early stages in alpha and a few different YouTube channels were playing it. It’s currently in early access and it’s been cool to see where this game is going now.

Slay the Spire

Slay the Spire is a roguelike singleplayer deck builder card game. You’ll build your deck so you can fight bizarre creatures and discover relics that may bring you great power. This game is very well loved for still being in early access, and since I have never really dived into deckbuilding or roguelike games, this looks like a good mix of the two.

Do you have any stand out games on your wishlist? Share them with me in the comments!
