Like many others, I have booked my getaway package and traveled to my own deserted island with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I have never played an Animal Crossing game before so this has all been a new and fun experience. So I’m going to take you on a mini-tour of my island!
My island’s name is Cerise, which is cherry in French. And you probably guessed that cherries were my starting fruit based on the island name. To keep the French cherry theme going my island flag is a play on the French flag with cherry colors.
I’ve had a lot of fun designing Cerise to my liking. One thing I decided to do, inspired by the teacup ride, is to have Hidden Mickeys around my island! All around the island the familiar ears of Mickey Mouse are placed ready to be found. My last count was 10 total ready for finding for visitors of Cerise.
My other nerdy addition is adding “rules” of my island to the bulletin board. They are all geeky references including some from Harry Potter, Agatha Christie, Daria, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and more!
I have been enjoying the fashion aspect of the game a lot. The game has so many cute clothing items how could you not! It has been fun to make outfits based on what I can buy in the Able Sister’s store as well as make my own designs. My house currently has a dressing room full of clothing items.
Speaking of my house, I have also been loving designing it as well. I love all the trinkets and tchotchkes you get and being able to display them. Plus mixing and matching floors, wallpapers, and furniture is fun too. I currently only have three rooms in my house which are a living room, bedroom, and a dressing room. I plan on adding a kitchen as the fourth room and moving the dressing room to the upstairs room and replacing it with an office/den type situation.
Overall I’ve been having a splendid time on Cerise and I’m looking forward to future updates and what may come with it!
Are you playing New Horizons? Tell me your island name in the comments!

I have been playing it quite a bit! I named my island Cape Dawn, for no specific reason other than I liked the name, and I have been having a blast designing it as well! There are still a couple of areas I need to take care of before I am done designing it completely, but I am waiting for the Earth Day update to do that, as I want to use the hedge and bushes in order to decorate those areas.
Oh, and Cerise looks like an awesome place! =D
I’ve only been playing for like a week, but I’ve been enjoying the game. It’s so cute!
I don’t have a Switch but that looks like a great start you’ve made inthe game.
