One of my favorite shows of recent is Rupaul’s Drag Race. My first season watching live was season 9 and the show is currently on season 12 with two All-Stars seasons during that span as well. Plus I’ve gone back and watched previous seasons. So since there are so many compilations of people’s favorite lipsyncs, I decided to make a post about mine.
For those that don’t watch the show, lipsyncing is a huge part of drag and thus a huge part of the show. In normal seasons, contestants who are in the bottom for the week have to “lipsync for their life” to prove they should stay in the competition. All Stars does it a little different where the top two of the week will “lipsync for their legacy” and the power to send one of the bottom queens home.
Spoiler warning as these do tell you who was on the bottom and may even show who was sent home that episode. Now onto the lipsyncs!
Shut Up and Drive – Alyssa Edwards vs Tatianna
This is from the second season of All Stars where the queens are not only lipsyncing to send someone home but they are also lipsyncing to get back into the competition after previously being eliminated. These two proved why they are all stars in this performance.
Pound the Alarm – Dusty Ray Bottoms vs. Monet X Change
Nikki Minaj being the most high energy music already serves as a great lip sync song and these two really brought it with this one. They were both standouts in their own way and it is a shame one of them went home.
Firework – Widow Von’Du vs. Jackie Cox
This is actually from the current season, season 12. It became one of my favorites because Jackie Cox’s performance was so joyous. I had fun watching her perform and felt all the hope and joy she had despite being bottom two.
Sorry Not Sorry – Brooke Lynn Hytes vs. Yvie Oddly
This is possibly the best lipsync of all time on the show. These two got full Cirque du Solei, hold nothing back, and everything they do works and doesn’t get desperate. I am still so entertained when I watch this one. This lipsync ended in a much-deserved double save.
I’m Every Woman – April Carrión vs. Trinity K. Bonet
Both of these queens do a great job, but I in particular really enjoy Trinity’s performance. She is an amazing performer and she captures the emotion and energy of the song perfectly. Her performance is legit perfection.

- Whip My Hair – Alyssa Edwards vs. Roxxxie Andrews
- I’m So Excited – Coco Montresse vs. Jade Jolie
