Now that I’ve written a whole novel, I figured it was an appropriate time to do this writer’s tag!
how long have you been writing?
If we go all the way back to when I wrote fanfiction on a website that no longer exists, then it’s been 16 years. But there have been periods where I wasn’t writing or writing different things like blog posts instead of angsty teen poetry. Within the last year is where I’ve written a lot more fiction though and have made it
why did you start writing?
As cheesy as it sounds, I believe it is because I have stories to tell and the best way to do so is by writing.
What was the first story you wrote?
Fanfiction when I was eleven or so.

What type of writing do you do?
Primarily as I’ve done for the last 8+ years, blogging. But I have written a lot of fiction over the last year.
do you write [or used to write] fanfictions?
Both used to and still do. And I will never tell you what fandoms I wrote/write for.
which genre do you like to write the most?
Only going to look at the fiction I write for this. The genre I write the most romance and realistic fiction.
describe your writing in five words
developing, comforting, satisfying, referential, and mine
do you outline before writing a story?
Yes, and I couldn’t write in any other way. I have to plan so I have checkpoints to hit when I do write.
where do you get inspiration for your stories?
Music is a huge one and I am frequently inspired by songs, lyrics, etc. I’m also inspired by the writing of others, be it seeing an idea and thinking of a twist or wanting to write a story with a similar impact.
do you listen to music when writing? if yes, what genre?
I usually have random YouTube videos playing when I write. The noise of conversation is easier to zone out of and focus. Music brings inspiration so it can distract me.
How do you find the time to write?
I don’t have to really find the time. I have a ridiculous amount of downtime in my days and I fill that with writing.
When and where do you think are the best places to write?
For me, I’ve found that writing during the workweek instead of the weekend works better for me. And as long as I’m not busy doing something else, the location doesn’t really matter.
What is your favorite part of writing?
When my writing brings joy to a reader.
What parts of writing do you find difficult?
Coming up with titles is the worst sometimes.
How do you overcome writer’s block?
I take a break to refresh my mind and sometimes dabble with a different story to work a different idea and maybe spark solutions.

How do you motivate yourself to write?
I get motivated by my ideas. And if I’m not super motivated to write, I won’t.
Do you have any writing goals?
I have a few wips that I want to get done and some commissions for fanfics to do, so getting all of those done is my current goal.
Why do you write?
I enjoy it, simple as that. It’s an outlet of creativity that I’ve been lacking recently and just something new to do.
