Avatar Generations is a new mobile game where you play Aang and friends through the story of The Last Airbender.
A copy of this game was provided for the purposes of this review.

In Avatar Generations, you play an abridged version of Aang’s story as he is first released from the ice by Katara and Sokka. You will also have moments playing as Suko while on his mission to capture the avatar. From there you will go on small missions to progress the story, as well as grow your team and enhance your powers using level ups and items to do so.
The actual battles are classic turn-based style, where you’ll go between your team with each member having two unique powers, plus you can combo them together for stronger attacks. Where you place your team members matters as certain positions have certain bonuses attached. And as you unlock new characters and new versions of characters you already have, you diversify your options to better target your opponents.

From the get go I must say that this game has been underwhelming and hasn’t really done anything to capture my attention to play the game longer and more often than I have. I don’t feel as immersed into the Avatar world as I would like and I think is necessary for an RPG. Like I said before, this is a abridged version of Aang’s story, and I honestly don’t think it is actually going to follow it that much which is kind of disappointing since they imply at the start that that is what we’re doing.

Overall, I think Avatar Generations is a bit of a mess at the moment. They have added a bunch of extras that don’t get explained very well so they don’t actually have importance to me. When it comes to the visual elements, the animations are mediocre at best in all honestly. The game could be great, but it needs a lot of work to become that.
If you’re interested in playing Avatar Generations for yourself, it is available on iOS and Android for free. But maybe keep an eye on the development and see how, and if, they make upgrades and changes.
Of the four elements, which would you like to be a bender of? Tell me in the comments.
