I do not willingly or enjoy watching horror movies. I have had many a friend try to get me to watch various levels of horror movie, and I’ve hated all of it. So, if you are like me, you don’t want to watch scary movies on halloween. I have curated a list of awesome movies that are great for halloween that involves no scares. So let’s begin!
Clue The Movie
It’s not just a board game. This movie came out in 1985, and stars an awesome cast including the one and only Tim Curry. It’s hilarious, witty, and full of murder. It’s the whodunnit we all love and a good laugh too.
Nightmare Before Christmas
Nightmare Before Christmas is like the ultimate holiday season movie because you can start watching in October, and don’t have to stop until January (or ever). Plus it helps validate the legitimacy of Halloween as a major holiday, and the songs are so catchy.
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Not-So-Scary movies aren’t just movies for kids. Rocky Horror Picture Show is an example of a adult-centered, not-scary movie. It’s kooky and crazy and a little out of this world, but Halloween brings that out in some people.
Hocus Pocus
Confession Time: I have never seen Hocus Pocus. And I know it’s always on as soon as it hits October, but I rarely turn on my TV to begin with. But, I do know it is a highly recommended movie for the Halloween season, so if you are like me and haven’t seen it, go watch it.
Any (or All) Harry Potter
I will always advocate for a Harry Potter-thon. And I will always make the always reference while doing it. What could be more Halloween than magic, mythical creatures, feasts, and evil to vanquish? You can watch or make a marathon of it. It will only take 19 hours.
