The first group up in my MBTI game recommendations series are the Sentinels!
Make sure you check out my introduction post for this series for more information! Also, this post contains affiliate links so I will make a small commission if you buy any of these games through the links.
To briefly define this group, Observant (S) and Judging (J) personality types, Sentinels are known for their practicality and focus on order, security, and stability.
Logistician – ISTJ
Known for their reliability and hard work, Logisticians are good at creating and maintaining a secure and stable environment for themselves and their loved ones. Logisticians’ dedication is invaluable in many areas, including their own personal growth.
The practicality and logic that the ISTJ’s have means that games where Choices Matter would be worthwhile. Making the best choices involves quite a bit of logic, and that is what makes it a good game type for ISTJs.
Examples: Disco Elysium, Frostpunk, Undertale
Defender – ISFJ
Known for their reliability and altruism, Defenders are good at creating and maintaining a secure and stable environment for themselves and their loved ones.
I think that MOBAs would be excellent for ISFJs because of their desire to create stable environments for their people. Team games, in general, would work well and the Defenders will excel at just that.
Examples: Dota, Smite, League of Legends
Executive – ESTJ
Few personality types are as practical and strong-willed as Executives. Executives are representatives of tradition and order, utilizing their understanding of what is right, wrong and socially acceptable to bring families and communities together.
Inventory/Resource Management games are excellent for Executives and their need for creating order. Being able to take a situation and lead it how you see fit to succeed is great for ESTJs.
Examples: Frostpunk, Dead in Vinland, Stardew Valley
Consul – ESFJ
Valuing stability and security very highly, Consuls are eager to preserve the status quo, which makes them extremely loyal and trustworthy. Consul personalities have a strong need to “belong”, and have no problem with small talk or following social cues in order to help them take an active role in their communities.
ESFJs enjoy being with people and generally people like being with them. Their desire to take an active role in groups makes them great for leading the way in co-op games. They tend to be conflict-averse, so being able to work together is great for them.
Examples: Overcooked, Don’t Starve Together, Astroneer
Are you one of these types? Did your description fit? Let me know with a comment!

What a fun idea for a series of posts! Looking forward to seeing what games you recommend for an ENFP! 😉
Love this idea for a recommendation series! I’m an INTJ, so interested to see what you come up with!
