Broadway recently announced that they will be closed throughout the rest of the year because of COVID19. Like me, many Broadway fans are bummed that this season has come to such a premature end. But there are still ways to enjoy the musical magic of theatre from home.

Watch Pro-Shots
A Pro-Shot is the professionally filmed version of the stage show. There is a wide variety of shows that have pro-shots of them available. Broadway HD is your best place to look for some to watch. Into the Woods with Bernadette Peters is one of my favorite pro-shots.

Musical Movies
Of course there are musical movies as well. From movies based on Broadway shows to musicals only on film, there are a ton of options here. It helps that the Hamilton film (which is really just a super nice pro-shot) just came out. Other ones I suggest are Chicago, Dream Girls, Moulin Rouge, and Les Miserables.
Broadway YouTube
There are quite a few YouTube channels out there dedicated to Broadway. My personal favorite is Katherine Steele, who has a big variety of musical content. You can also find many vlogs of people going to Broadway shows if you want to remember the good times of being able to go to a show.

Listen to Cast Albums
The most obvious option, but I had to include it anyway. Now is a great time to check out new cast albums and shows you haven’t listened to before. And if you need some comfort, you can binge listen to your favorites too.
What ways do you enjoy musical theater from home? Let me know with a comment below.
I have been listening to Broadway Soundtracks and seeing the musical movies. It is a bummer that Broadway is closed for the rest of the year. I still don’t know when Blumenthal will open its doors for musical tours again
