K-Pop star AleXa finished the first part of her Sick of You tour in Los Angeles this past weekend, and I had the pleasure to attend and wanted to share the experience.
AleXa’s Sick of You tour was presented in two parts: Heaven and Hell. Starting in Heaven, she performed her brighter and softer songs, such as Xtra and Juliet, before switching to the darker and harder concepts, such as Revolution and Do or Die, for Hell.
The concert was an intimate affair with a standing-room-only venue. I decided to splurge a bit when getting tickets and opted for VIP, which came with priority entry into the venue thus leading to such a great view in the second row. It came with a couple of other perks like a signed poster and VIP badge, but I mostly wanted it to ensure a decent view for the show. And it was most definitely worth it.
AleXa is an excellent performer, even when struggling with asthma as she was during our show. If she hadn’t told us that was the case, I wouldn’t have known because she was giving it her all and frankly put on a better show than some bigger artists that I’ve seen. Her choreography is hard, but her performance never suffered in my opinion.
I was most excited for her to perform Revolution, which is my favorite song of hers. And of course she put on an excellent performance for it. Even songs that are not my absolutely favorites were sung well and made me like them more. Besides performing her most popular songs, she also performed a few unreleased tracks that are so good and I need them released yesterday.
What was particularly enjoyable was the rapport she had with us and how it was candid and humorous. It never felt scripted as some between-song-moments can feel during concerts, and her interactions with us were some of the best moments.
Overall, AleXa’s concert was a ton of fun and one of my favorite concerts I’ve been to thus far. I will happily see her perform live again and hopefully it is soon. I also hope she releases those unreleased songs because they are great tracks.
Sounds like a great time. Glad you got to go see her!
