What to Watch: Hardcore Henry

Have you ever wanted to feel like you are in the movie? Like you are the star? If yes, then Hardcore Henry is the movie for you.

Hardcore Henry is a film that is like playing a first person shooter video game. Yeah, the entire film is in first person POV. The film was entirely shot with GoPro’s attached to helmets that the main actor would wear. It’s actually the first of it’s kind, and it’s insane.

The story itself is about a man named Henry, who is brought back to life by his wife using cybernetics. He doesn’t remember anything, and she has to tell him his whole past because he can’t remember. Just as she is going to give him his voice back, the lab gets attacked and she gets taken, leaving him mute. This starts Henry’s search for his wife, and all the action where everyone is trying to kill him, but he doesn’t know why.

The director aimed to make everything look as real as possible in the first person view, so Henry’s actor is doing all of his own stunts, with very little CGI involved; meaning real explosions, real fighting, real almost everything. Which is understandable a little unbelievable in the acting world, but this film is trying to be innovative enough with it’s POV.

I saw the full trailer when I went to see Deadpool, and I have put it below in case you have not seen it yet. Keep in mind, it is a little trippy to watch at first.

Will you go see Hardcore Henry? Leave a comment letting me know!

  1. I am actually really intrigued by this. I saw the trailer a couple weeks ago, and honestly I don’t think the story is going to be anything special, but I really like the unique POV. It brings something new to the action film genre, and I feel that alone is worth checking out…plus I can only imagine HOW COOL this would be if it got an IMAX release. Though people with motion sickness should probably avoid it like the plague haha.

  2. I saw the trailer for this at the movies last week and while I think it’s different, it gave me a headache and some motion sickness. Personally I don’t think I could sit through 1-2 hours of this.
