I decided to squeeze one last Christmas-y post after seeing The Christmas Tag go around.
1. Do you start your Christmas shopping on Black Friday or wait until last minute?
This year I started before Black Friday and only a little bit after, an all online.
2. If you could be in any Christmas movie, what would it be?
My favorite Christmas movie is Muppet Christmas Carol, so I guess that one will work as long as I can hang out with Rizzo.
3. Which do you like better: Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
My mother’s side of the family we’d do present opening on Christmas Eve and just celebrating and having Christmas dinner on Christmas Day, so overall I like both because we made it a whole two-day affair.
4. When does your family (or you) put up your Christmas tree and who decorates it?
Our tree is usually up before Thanksgiving our right after. We’re Germans we celebrate the entire month of December so setup has to be before that.
5. White lights or colored lights?
I personally prefer white lights, especially on trees.
6. Are you guilty of peeking at your presents or do you like the surprise?
Probably when I was a little kid I tried and failed. Definitely not as an adult.
7. Would you rather live in a gingerbread house or in Santa’s workshop?
I actually don’t like Gingerbread, and house construction is always debatable, so I will go with Santa’s workshop.
8. Tell us your Christmas Eve traditions!
This year, we’re going to have a nice dinner, go driving around to look at Christmas lights, get home and open presents and watch a Christmas movie.
9. If you could be under the mistletoe with anyone who would it be?
Did you know mistletoe is a fungus?
10. What tops your Christmas tree?
We have stars of some kind. This year our Christmas theme is a beach theme, so it’s a Starfish!
11. Can you name the 12 days of Christmas?
On the first day of Christmas….
The short answer is yes, just don’t want to type it all out.
12. Have you ever gone Christmas caroling?
Yes, in high school my friends and I would all go caroling.
13. Do you countdown to Christmas? If so, how many days left?
I have an advent calendar and, at the time of this being posted, there is 1 week left until Christmas Day!
14. What are some foods and treats you can count on having every holiday season?
White fudge Oreos is the ultimate must-have this season, because they are only available this season. We also have a large variety of other cookies too. Also, we don’t go for a turkey on Christmas usually. We will have roast game hens or duck. One year we had a goose.
15. How has Christmas kept it’s magic for you as you’ve grown older?
Christmas is much more about family now then it used to. We play board games together on Christmas Day, have family dinner, and get more excited to get gifts for each other rather than receiving gifts. So the magic of Christmas is in the family.
