Valentine’s Day is coming up, and you may be thinking about how you can spend that day with your partner. Since you now have a consistent player 2 in your life, why not spend the day playing some video games together? And here I have some suggestions for what you can play, with some focus on local gaming but can also be played apart for the long-distance couples out there.

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
In this couch co-op game, you and your partner team up to explore a neon galaxy in your very own battleship. Through the different levels, you must constantly move from station to station within your ship in order to balance flying, protecting it from damage, and attacking enemies. You’ll work as a team to do so and defeat the different bosses as well.
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Macintosh operating systems, and Linux.

Tricky Towers
A personal favorite of mine to play with my partner, Tricky Towers is like Tetris with so much more. There are different game types from race to survival to puzzle, plus you can cast spells to help yourself or make your opponents life a little bit harder. This game will be fun if you want more of a competition between you two.
Tricky Towers is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Macintosh operating systems, and Linux.
Overcooked 2
Another co-op game, Overcooked 2 is a game where you work together to complete various orders in a restaurant in a specific time limit. Each level gets more challenging as the kitchen environment changes and more dishes get added, and you have to rely on your partner to get everything done.
Overcooked 2 is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Macintosh operating systems, and Linux.
Ultimate Chicken Horse
Back to a competitive game, Ultimate Chicken Horse is a platformer where you build the obstacles to help you get to the finish or stop your opponent from doing so. It’s hilarious fun that can be played local or online. I have played this game for hours on end before because it is so much fun.
Ultimate Chicken Horse is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Just Shapes and Beats
One last co-op game to finish off this list. Just Shapes and Beats is a fast-paced and high energy co-op game where you play as a small shape trying to survive different levels set to amazing music. It’s ridiculous fun that you won’t want to stop playing until you complete it.
Just Shapes and Beats is available on PC and Nintendo Switch.
