One of my favorite things about mobile games is the portable factor is having it on your phone. And there have been many games made for mobile with relaxing and stress relief in mind. And since I shared video games to help you destress, I figured mobile games would be fitting too. So in this post, I am going to share some of my favorite mobile games to help you destress that I have found.
#SelfCare
I reviewed #SelfCare recently, but I still wanted to add it to this list since it’s whole purpose is to help you relax and destress. #SelfCare is, as the developers TRU LUV describe, “a free, simple, and beautiful companion for relaxation and mindfulness.
It’s a safer space to take care of you.” I have found it very soothing, especially after a stressful day and needing to calm my mind. It’s definitely not your traditional definition of game, and it is very accessible for those who may consider themselves gamers.
Alto’s Odyssey
Alto’s Odyssey is actually a sequel to another mobile game, Alto’s Adventure. The game is an endless sandboarding journey set against a gorgeous and ever-changing desert landscape. It’s described as easy to learn but hard to master. But don’t let the difficulty deter you because it is truly relaxing. The game also comes specifically with a zen mode. As the developers describe of this mode, “complete with its own serene soundtrack, this relaxing mode distills Odyssey down to its purest elements: no scores, no coins, and no power-ups. Just you and the endless desert.”
Tokaido
When I find mobile games to play, I do tend to lead to board games. And one mobile board game I find particularly relaxing is Tokaido. Based on an actual tabletop game, Tokaido can be played alone with AI or pass and play if you’d enjoy playing with another person. Set in the Edo period of Japan, you play as a traveler traversing the “East Sea Road”. Your goal is to be the traveler that experience the most on the journey, with options including making friends, painting the beautiful scenery, collect items, taste fine meals, and visit temples and wild places. It’s all about the journey as they say.
Ruya
Ruya is a calming puzzle game that I have written about before. It is a matching puzzle game set in a dreamlike world. The aura of the game is very surreal and relaxing and the game is not meant to be stressful in any way.
Aquavias
Aquavias, also known as Water games: Aquavias | Plumber, you strive to complete the aqueducts to provide the cities with water through puzzles. It is beautifully designed and is visually relaxing. This game is more complex than your average relaxation game, but if you find enjoyment from that this game will be a good choice for you.
