For day 6 of the 30 Day Geek Out Challenge, I am sharing one of my geeky real-life inspirations.
Just as a reminder, the 30 Day Geek Out Challenge is all about what makes you geeky, from fandoms to hobbies, favorite characters and more. I’m going to do this challenge along with my regular schedule of posts, so there will be tons of content from me this month! Thanks to Megan at A Geeky Gal for creating this!
Today’s question is: What real-life geek inspires you?
Dr. Boccamazzo, or better known as Dr. B is the clinical director at Take This, a mental health and wellness non-profit focused on the gaming community. He also runs a geeky mental health private practice that utilizes roleplaying and other geeky means for therapeutic purposes. He also appears on Clinical Roll, a D&D Twitch stream played by a group of therapeutic GMs.
I have had the wonderful opportunity to see Dr. B speak and run panels twice at two different conventions on behalf of Take This, and they have always been amazing. His advocacy for mental health and using things us geeks know and love in a therapeutic fashion are what inspires me the most.
Mental health is very important to me, as someone who deals with anxiety and depression daily, and of course, I am geeky. So seeing the two come together is fantastic. And he does such a great job of advocating for mental health and wellness and lifting up the voices of others.
Make sure you check out A Geeky Gal’s post for day 6 where she shares her IRL inspiration.

This is so cool! I’ll have to check out the streams he’s on!
