Dungeons and Dragons has gained so much popularity and is easily one of the most well-known things in gaming. So for those who love D&D, I’m sharing some other tabletop games you’ll enjoy.
Lords of Waterdeep
Getting quite literal with this first one, Lords of Waterdeep takes your favorite parts of Dungeons and Dragons and turns it into a worker placement. You play as one of the masked Lords of Waterdeep to develop the city via quests, building, and intrigue. You’ll see familiar characters, like Owlbears, and see D&D through a whole new view.
Vast: The Mysterious Manor
In Vast: The Mysterious Manor, every player has a different objective during their time in the manor. And with each different character comes different skills and perks that will help them reach their goal. In a sense, it is similar to building your character’s stats and using them on your quest in your campaign.
Mice and Mystics
Mice and Mystics is much more of your straightforward RPG. In this cooperative adventure, you and your party are playing as those who are still loyal to the king but have been turned into mice to escape the villain Vanestra. You will face many different foes and develop different skills on this adventure, much like in your D&D campaign.
Fiasco
Want to roleplay but in a whole different scenario? With Fiasco, you’ll be roleplaying dangerous, ridiculous situations that have gone horribly wrong. There are different options, like the GM-less Classic version that takes little to no setup to the various different anthologies. It is sure to bring out a whole new side to your regular party.
Fury of Dracula
For those who want to have that all versus one setup like a GM versus the party, Fury of Dracula is an excellent option. One player is Dracula, who is trying to create more vampires and avoid the party of vampire hunters, aka the other players. This can lead to some funny roleplaying, like it did in Geek and Sundry’s Tabletop episodes on the game, but has the freshness of more classic board game elements like cards.

Lords of Waterdeep is a great game, especially for those who enjoy worker placement *raises hand high* I’ve never heard of Vast though. That sounds interesting. Have you played any of the actual D&D board games that are out there? I’ve been curious if those are any good or not.
