Video Games to Play Based on Your Myers-Briggs: Analysts

It is time for the analysts! This post is for the INTJ, INTP, ENTJ, and ENTP’s out there!

Make sure you check out my introduction post for this series for more information! Also, this post contains affiliate links so I will make a small commission if you buy any of these games through the links.

Intuitive (N) and Thinking (T) personality types, Analysts are known for their rationality, impartiality, and intellectual excellence.

Architect – INTJ

It can be difficult for Architects to find people who can keep up with their non-stop analysis of things. People with this personality type are imaginative yet decisive… ambitious yet like their privacy… curious about everything but remain focused.

Turn-Based Strategy for INTJs is an excellent choice because of their curiosity and decisiveness. They strive for unique and creative solutions to complex problems, and the added need to respond to predictable and unpredictable actions in turn-based strategy is perfect for that.

Examples: XCOM 2, Slay the Spire, Armello

Logician – INTP

Logicians pride themselves on their inventiveness and creativity, their unique perspective and vigorous intellect. Usually known as the philosopher, the architect, or the dreamy professor, Logicians have been responsible for many scientific discoveries throughout history.

Choices Matter is a good choice because Logicians love to theorize the results of choices and see what unique things they can do. The open-mindedness leads to choices that are more unexpected and can lead to new endings.

Examples: Detroit: Become Human, Until Dawn, Mass Effect

Commander – ENTJ

Commanders are natural-born leaders. People with this personality type embody the gifts of charisma and confidence, and project authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal. However, Commanders are also characterized by an often ruthless level of rationality, using their drive, determination and sharp minds to achieve whatever end they’ve set for themselves.

Metroidvania games are great for ENTJs because of their base action-adventure genre that embraces their drive and determination via exploration of the large maps and platforming mechanics.

Examples: Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, Ori and the Blind Forest

Debater – ENTP

The Debater personality type is the ultimate devil’s advocate, thriving on the process of shredding arguments and beliefs and letting the ribbons drift in the wind for all to see. Debaters don’t do this because they are trying to achieve some deeper purpose or strategic goal, but for the simple reason that it’s fun.

Choices Matter also works well for debaters because of their need to be a devil’s advocate. They will enjoy trying the opposite choices and seeing all the options available, regardless of if there is a right or wrong.

Examples: Detroit: Become Human, Man of Medan, Kingdom Come: Deliverance

  1. I’m INTJ but I’m low on the J and almost P, and those games are exactly the sort I love to play. Mass Effect is my all-time favourite, and I have sooo many turn-based strategies. Stellaris isn’t turn-based, but I think it works pretty well for INTJs!
