There are always some specific parts of our favorite things we love. So in honor of that, I’m going to share my more specific favorites within gaming.
Favorite Genre
It took me a while to narrow this down to just one, but I think that Simulation is my go-to and favorite. Be it in tycoon games or resource management in specific situations, I am drawn to simulation the most.
Favorite Mechanic
Resource management and turn-based strategy are tied for favorite for me. It’s very much dependent on what mood I am in.
Favorite Story
My love of gaming came from watching playthroughs and enjoying the stories of the games. And one of those games is the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider. The historical and mythological aspects are very intriguing.
Favorite Playable Character
I’m going to go with Lara Croft. Again thinking of the reboot, her characterization and development throughout that trilogy are quite compelling.
Favorite NPC
Celeste from Animal Crossing! For a moment I couldn’t think of when but then I remembered the sweet, star-loving owl. I don’t know why I love her so much but of all the NPC’s in Animal Crossing, she is my favorite.
Favorite Single Player Game
GRIS. I’ve talked about GRIS a lot on the blog and about how beautiful it is. From gameplay to the art and the audio, it’s stunning through and through.
Favorite Co-Op Game
I don’t play a lot of co-op games. The closest I get is games that have a co-op option involved like Depth, Dead by Daylight, or Shellshock Live.
Favorite Multiplayer Game
Dead by Daylight. I don’t play it as actively as I used to but of all the multiplayer games I have played, I have played it the most. It’s not a perfect game, but I’ve had a lot of fun playing it.
Favorite Game Overall
Armello of course! That isn’t news to anyone who has been on the blog before.
Favorite Platform
I’d actually choose the Switch despite primarily being a PC player. But the versatility and wide catalog makes the Switch a better system for me.
