I have done a tag called The Gamer Tag before, but then I saw that Kim from Chimmyville did one with completely different questions. So I decided to give that one a go and thus I have The Gamer Tag Remastered.
1. What is your all-time favorite video game?
I’d still say Armello is my favorite game, but not sure if it is of all-time. I have played more games and had incredible, meaningful moments in them so I think I could debate this with myself for a while.
2. What is your current favorite video game?
Armello since they had their 2.0 update which has added a lot to it. Gris was also incredible and has a special place in my heart now.
3. What is your favorite video game genre?
Indie and strategy are the top genres for me. Indie is definitely the top.
4. How long have you been playing video games?
I actually only really got into playing video games consistently for my enjoyment about 4-5 years ago. I did play games as a kid like Cluefinders and Barbie PC game, but when I got to middle school I stopped. So for me, I’d say I am a very recent gamer.
5. What’s the first game you ever played?
I think it was Mario Kart on the N64 during the very short time we had one. My brother was not really interested in playing it and preferred reading so my parents got rid of it.
6. What game have you clocked the most hours into?
Armello. I don’t have a total because I have played it on PC, Switch, and mobile. I have 137 hours on PC alone as of writing this.
7. What’s your longest gaming session?
I think the longest is still 8 hours. It was a gaming session with friends playing a variety of multiplayer games. Otherwise, my game sessions only last a couple of hours.
8. Who is your favorite game developer?
League of Geeks, who made Armello, because they are a team of some great people who made a game I love.
9. Who is your favorite hero character from a game?
I love Lara Croft, especially in the recent reboot games.
10. Who is your favorite villain?
GLaDOS, mainly cause she is so sarcastic.
11. Who is your most hated character of any game?
I don’t tend to hate characters. I find that they have a purpose in the story, and sometimes that purpose is to be an antagonist and not be a likable character.
12. What gaming systems do you own?
Nintendo Switch is the only console. I also play on PC.
13. What was your first game system?
I mean I guess you could count the N64 mentioned earlier, but that wasn’t mine. I got a gaming PC before the Switch.
14. What’s your favorite gaming system and why?
My default is PC. I do really enjoy my Switch because there are some games, like platformers, that for me are much easier to play on that system versus the PC.
15. Do you prefer to play male characters or female characters?
Female characters easily.
16. Do you follow walkthroughs, or do you play through on your own?
I have used walkthroughs to help me sometimes. I also watch walkthroughs purely for entertainment also.
17. Have you ever been to a gaming convention?
I’ve been to Twitch Con, which is the closest to a video game convention I have attended.
18. What game are you most excited to come out in the future?
I don’t follow video game releases closely. One game I have been waiting for is Jenny LeClue – Detectivu.
19. What’s your best memory of a video game?
Okay, we’re gonna get sentimental and emotional here.
So the reason I started playing video games was because I started watching a lot of YouTube to cope with difficult situations and declining mental health in college. YouTube led to Twitch and Twitch led to communities that played games with each other and that is how I started playing video games. And games, for me, are still are a large part of my coping and connecting with people. I found my best friends and my boyfriend via games so all of that I’d say is my best memory.
20. What’s your worst memory of a video game?
Unfortunately, Twitch also has a ton of drama. That is really the extent of me answering this question.
21. Which video game character do you see yourself as, or if you had to be represented by a video game character, who would it be?
Part of me says the reboot Lara Croft, because of the mental health layers of that series. I’d also say Gris from Gris, for the same reason. And a little bit of Mae from Night in the Woods.
