Steam Next Fest, the platforms celebration of upcoming games, has come and gone and I wanted to share some of the gems I found interest in from the week-long event.
With over 700 different games featured in the event, I had my hands full of great games to choose from. The following are the ones I gave a try or found worth sharing so let’s get started.
Master of the Wizards is a party card game about powerful Wizards battling, flinging spells and curses at each other, conquering and destroying lands along the way. It reminds me of the tabletop game Epic Spell Wars, which I do enjoy, and the Rick and Morty art style gives it it’s own personality.

“Hidden Dream” is a game about puzzle, exploration and collection where players are supposed to participate in the story about how Princess Wencheng completed her journey to Tibet to marry Srongtsen Gampo in Princess Wencheng’s fantasy world. The art is what draws me into this game as it looks stunning and the cultural background also makes me want to play.

Ancient Gods is a fusion of gacha and deck-building rogue-lite where you collect your character, fight, and experience exciting events. Any character can use all the cards, combine them with the character’s passive for ultimate power on your exploration. Deck-building games are a genre I don’t play much but would like to, so Ancient Gods seems like an interesting starting point.
Mega Monster Party by AirConsole is a classic board game and minigame collection, perfect for passing time and ending friendships! Use smartphones as gamepads to control one of eight monstrous characters and conquer the board. This style of game being able to be played through smartphones is what drew me in because it could easily be played local or even remote.

Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers
Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers is the follow-up to 2019’s Arcade Spirits, a visual novel of love and pixels, in which you seek friendship and romance while working in an arcade. Now the tables are turned, as you seek friendship and romance while PLAYING in an arcade! I played the original Arcade Spirits and enjoyed it so I immediately chose to try the demo of this when I saw it.

Explore the wonderful world of books through deceptively simple ciphers in Prose & Codes. Every purchase benefits Project Gutenberg, an online library of over 60,000 free ebooks, which is great and worth investigate on it’s own.

With Storyteller you are the one writing the stories! Start with a title, characters and settings and create your own twist on stories familiar and new. It is an interesting take on a puzzle game
