As a part of Blaugust, I wanted to explore the blog and myself as a blogger for a couple of posts. And I figured why not revisit The Blogger Tag and see what has changed since the original version.
How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
A Geek Girl’s Guide is officially 7 years old! That’s the age of a second-grader, which feels wild. But I’ve been blogging since 2014, with my first blog now being private with some posts cross-posted here. I started it as a work challenge to do something every day for 30 days so I chose writing.
Is this current blog your first blog?
Just answered this above. This isn’t my first blog, and I think it is my third or fourth since I started. It also holds the title of my longest running blog.
What would you categorize your blog as?
I find it really hard to categorize AGGG because I cover many topics and the type of content I do evolves with time and my interests. I’d previously say it is a geeky lifestyle blog, but now it is less lifestyle and more of a criticism blog I guess? I’m not sure, so leave a comment with how you would categorize AGGG.
Is it still the same kind of blog as when you first started?
From the perspective of what I cover, yes. How I cover it though has changed a lot. So I would say that it isn’t the same anymore because it has grown a lot.
Top 3 Favorite things about being a blogger!
Getting to write about whatever I want at my own pace.
Getting to share things I enjoy (K-Pop, games, Disney, musicals, etc.)
Getting to say I’ve been doing this for nearly a decade
What is your favorite kind of post to write?
As of late, I’ve been enjoying my ranking posts. I also like save one, drop one posts because they are really easy to come up with and they get me thinking.
