A couple of weeks ago, I attended a murdery mystery event entitled Hero. It was interactive, meaning we had to solve the murder of the superhero named Surge.
A common misconception is that a superhero and a vigilante are the same thing, and vice versa. However, the two are not synonyms, and although one can be a vigilante and become a superhero, that is an exception to the rule. But how do you tell the two apart?
This is a brief analysis of how women are represented in varying superhero universes, particularly female superheroes.
I have never seen anything divide geeks as much as Marvel vs. DC has. Not only do people have their favorite heroes and villains, but favorite sides completely based on the brand. But in a battle between Marvel favorites and DC equivalents, who would win?
